JNTUK-UCEV strives towards inculcating research culture among its students and faculty by encouraging multi-disciplinary research activities in pace with global standards. With this intention, the R&D Cell has been established to lend support and guidance to the researchers involved in academic as well as sponsored research. The research areas include all major disciplines with the ultimate aim of addressing the needs and challenges of the society. The research community has several peer reviewed journal publications and patents to its credit. The faculty members are actively engaged in carrying out research projects sanctioned by several funding agencies of Central and State Governments including UGC, DST, DAE, NRB etc. In addition to this, major consultancy projects with agencies like Supraja Technologies, M/s Sarda Metals &Alloys Ltd, etc.  are also undertaken across different departments of the Institute.

The R & D cell functions with the following motto

1. To encourage multidisciplinary collaborative research among faculty members and with research institutes across the globe.
2. To facilitate cutting edge research in thrust areas identified by the departments.
3. To organize scientific outreach programmes periodically in order to address research gaps through knowledge management.
4. To promote industry-oriented research in diverse fields so as to integrate the outcome with real-world applications.
